Increase in life expectancy and lifestyle modification have led us to new health challenges including chronic diseases. Many of us suffer at least one chronic disease during our lifetime. Some of the most common chronic diseases relate to liver, respiratory system, diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, cancer, infectious diseases, and mental health. Unfortunately, most chronic patients do not get timely diagnosis and right kind of treatment they need or desire. This is mostly due to unequal distribution and shortage of healthcare resources. Other factors that make a patient’s treatment journey difficult are inadequate diagnostic and treatment facilities, non-availability of specialist doctors near to home, lack of guidance and psycho-social support which eventually lead to late access to care and high out of pocket expenses on healthcare. This is where IIHD step in enabling Patients’ access to continuum of healthcare and simplify the care pathway with its unique Virtual Access 2 Care program.
The GOAL of the virtual A2C is to " Expand access to continuum of healthcare for the patient– provide momentum to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) global movement on 3.0, i.e. health and wellbeing".
A2C design and approach is to work as a catalyst and solution aggregator connecting multiple stakeholders of the healthcare value chain ecosystem.
